What's the problem?

New chicken family here. We added 10 layers that were being sold for cheap. One of them seems to have an issue. She doesn't appear to be in any stress but the bottom is swollen. Doesn't seem normal. From searching it doesn't appear to be something contagious. Any ideas?

Thought I posted this already but can't find it. We have a hen with a swollen bottom. She doesn't appear to be in stress. Searching seems to indicate whatever is the issue it's not contagious. Any ideas?

Her feathers below her vent seem to have been pecked out. Did she have tail feathers? Or is she molting? That may be it. How old is she? They usually start to molt around 18 months old give or take, and molt yearly thereafter. Offering some extra protein if ahe is molting would be good. Feather picking however, is s a type of bullying, and may be a result of overcrowding, boredom, and too little protein in the diet.

We were told the layers were 14 months old. Could be molting. I just read about that a few days ago. The other 9 hens we got from the same farm do not have this condition. Don't have a way to separate currently.
