Geez.... all you people with 30-plus temps..... I am soooo envious. We'll get there tomorrow, but as of this moment it's still only 7-deg-F and not going to get much better today. It was MINUS-7 when I crawled out of bed this morning. Temps have been ridiculously low since Jan. 8th --- that's 12 solid days of temps hovering just above or well below ZERO degrees. We had two days earlier this week when they rose to near the freezing mark, so at least the chickens could get out for a while.

This morning, one of the water hoses was frozen so I could not water any of the livestock in that section. That's why I have a backup to the backup for situations like this; The pigs have three heated water bowls, the cattle have three heated tanks, and the chickens have two. I fill waterers for everybody EVERY day, whether they need topped off or not. Just in case.
