Heatwave warning

Issued at 2:59 AM EDT on Tuesday 23 Jan 2024.
Uh, no it wasn't or I would have seen it this morning and included it in my post. This is the first time I've ever seen a heatwave warning.
Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to low forties, reaching the mid forties over the northwest. Overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties, reaching the high twenties over the northwest.Severe heatwave conditions building over inland northern parts of the state will extend eastwards towards central and northern coastal parts during the week before easing from the southwest by the weekend. Locations likely to be impacted include Armidale, Camden, Campbelltown, Hornsby, Liverpool, Moree, Nowra, Orange, Richmond and Wollongong.

The NSW Department of Health advises everyone in the affected areas to take the following actions:

  • Extreme heatwaves can be dangerous for everyone.
  • Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
  • Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
  • Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
  • If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
