Heavy rain, storms forecast to soak Australia's south-east as cold front moves through Victoria, Tasmania and NSW

This week will deliver heavy rain to much of eastern Australia.

A band of widespread rain and thunderstorms is currently sweeping across south-east states ahead of an even more significant weather event later this week – potentially the first east coast low (ECL) of 2024.

Heavy rain returning to eastern Australia is reminiscent of 2020–2022 and the possible emergence of La Niña in 2024 would again significantly increase the flood risk through the next 12 months.

After ideal autumnal weather this Easter long weekend, a cold front is now sending a band of heavy rain and thunderstorms across south-east states.

Gah!

Had a hailstorm in Ohio recently, and no school today because it’s been hailing/ raining a lot, and some of the roads are flooded. Hopefully I can get out to the feed store at least, I’ve got 25 chickens and they are eating the leftover Easter ham and potatoes right now. I plan to leave before the storm picks up, because I do NOT feel like going home on 70 while there’s hurricane force winds. So yeah, between January and may, Ohio is like the meme.
It’s thundering now, and we’re under a tornado watch (for those out of state, it means high likelihood of tornado, so be ready to take shelter at any time.) i hope all 12 of my teenage chicks are ok, already lost 5 this week due to escapes/ random deaths,(their first week outside) and I have seven adult birds that live in the yard, and six little chicks in the garage. I just hope their all ok in the morning 😬

Central Indiana our weather has been a rollercoaster this week.

Currently 38F, feels like 31(and a bit colder to me haha) light rain today followed by snow until morning...

Yesterday high mid 60s with a tornado watch and severe storm watch (conditions are favorable)

Monday mid 60s and severe thunderstorm warnings

Supposedly it's supposed to heat back up in time for the eclipse lol
