June 23 and 85 degrees. .5 inch of rain last nite. It has been a good spring for us in central illinois and so far summer ain't bad. don't believe what our weather men say, I keep my own records and let's just say the weather people are big liars.
Hear, hear! I've also been keeping a written weather diary for many years now.

Monday 24th of June 12.30a.m. Sunny and calm. 5.5 / 9.3kph E, Hg 49%, 15.1C / 59.7F top of 17C / 63F. Mostly sunny.

Moon is 94.5%

forecast (n.)

early 15c., "forethought, prudence," probably from forecast (v.). Meaning "conjectured estimate of a future course" is from 1670s. A Middle English word for weather forecasting (also divination by reading signs in the clouds or weather) was aeromancy (late 14c.).

when are you moving? 🙏 prayers for you to be able to live in a better environment soon.

Thank you very much for the prayers! Some people love the desert but boy it is not for everyone. I am saving money and watching the housing markets carefully. I need to make a few more trips to scope out potential areas. I hope to make those trips next year. It's hard to set aside the time to get away.

I'm sorry that you have property damage, Emma. I hope it isn't too extensive or expensive.

Thank you, it's not too bad, everyone is safe, that's the main thing. The damage is to the roof over part of the kitchen and the hall bathroom. Water came in right above the door to the side yard. Normally I love rain but yikes!

We're trying to get someone to come out and give us a quote but there are a lot of people who have damage from the storm and some roofers are scheduling appointments a month out (!).

When it was going on I felt so bad for the poor chickens. They were scared and bewildered and had that "What the heck is going on?!" look on their faces - you know the one. Today they're calm as can be, behaving totally normally, slurping up cabbage and playing keep-away with frozen blueberries.

I budget for everything and it never occurred to me to budget for coop repairs from storm damage! But then that's what an emergency fund is for. 👍
