It's a type of firework that spins on the ground and spews sparks everywhere, changing colors, and making a distinctive zzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzz sound, and when it's done it flops around for a bit.

It's brief but impressive. I can't imagine what the bears must have thought of it!

When I was an undergrad in college it was very popular to throw these into the ocean because they work underwater, too (please don't do that, though).

Thank you...Fireworks are banned for sale to the public these days here, but the video reminded me of one we used to get. I can't recall what we called it but Bloom Flower suits it perfectly. Yeah, those bears would have been running dazed lol

I did imagine Orkney to be snowy and cold, but now I think about it, it's probably Coastal Weather, isn't it? aka wet and windy. Do you get freezing rain and slippery roads?

Not that much. It'll sometimes be frosty or icy early in the morning but temps rarely drop below freezing for very long. There's less than ten degrees (18 degrees in F) difference between our summer and winter average temperatures. It can feel a lot colder with the high humidity though.

Wet and very windy - uphill rain is a thing here - although long dry spells during spring and summer are becoming a problem.
