What's the temperature where you are???

Did I just find the random thread where we are all hanging out talking about exploding trees and Polar Vortexes?

I think I did.

Here is a News story on your exploding trees - they are frost cracks - see them here on the odd tree. My fruit trees are prone to it…. 😡 hopefully my Peach trees are ok.

Hate the cold and snow, squalls haven’t started yet.

Currently -13C (10F), temperature will continue dropping from here, this will be the warmest it gets today. It’s all downhill from here.

Be safe everyone, remember frost bite can occur in as little as 10 minutes.

It is about 25 here.
56 more days till spring.

115 days until our unofficial start to better more reliably warm weather, counting down the days!

Well better get my butt to the barn and do chores. Have a safe day everyone.

I'm in North Florida, and it's 23 right now (at 8 am). It supposedly got into the teens last night.

My brother lives in Wisconsin and he said it was -26 yesterday. He sent me a video of him throwing hot water into the air and it instantly froze and I could hear his rooster crowing away in the background!
And that's just the temperature, it's -47 with the wind chill. I'm in Wisconsin as well.

Anytime it's single digits and below I go out by the girls when I get home from work at 2:00 a.m. and take them some warm grain & pellets moistened with water and some raspberries. I'm not sure if it's doing more harm than good waking them up and having them move around to eat or if it just makes me feel better thinking they'll warm up a little. I go out in the dark with my flashlight so they don't jump down off of the roosts or anything. Could be I'm just another crazy chicken lady
