Residents in Queensland's outback are bracing for weeks of isolation after ex-Tropical Cyclone Kirrily flooded main roads with hundreds of millimetres of rain over several days.
The system, which is hovering over the Queensland, Northern Territory border near Birdsville, will begin its journey south-east towards New South Wales today and tomorrow, bringing light showers and winds to the state's coast on Tuesday, according to the BOM.
Meanwhile, authorities are watching another tropical low gaining strength in the Coral Sea off Queensland's coast.
