What's the temperature where you are???

It was a dust storm in an area with a lot of farms. Some farms are operational and some are abandoned. This is a desert so empty farmland means lots and lots and lots of dust.

The dust storm included high amounts of airborne fertilizer chemicals and pesticides from the farms. I've seen it happen before but not that bad.

About ten years ago I had spent the day riding horses with a friend in Oro Valley. You can see Oro Valley on that AQI map. The area marked "Hazardous" is where the farmland is.

I had been feeling "off" all day but I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. I suddenly started vomiting violently and passed out (wasn't on a horse when it happened, thank goodness).

In the ER the nurses kept asking me what I had been doing because they'd had dozens of people coming in all day with the same symptoms. The only commonality was that we had all been outdoors.

It turned out there was dust blowing from that same farm area carrying airborne toxins into Oro Valley and it was making people really sick. The same thing probably happened today.
That's just awful. What kind of treatment did they put you on?
Stay safe!

I don't remember everything but they gave me an IV to rehydrate me because of all the vomiting. They gave me a lot. They kept asking me if I had to use the bathroom but I didn't have to.

They discharged me and my friend drove me home. I guess it hit me all at once because on the way home I suddenly had to pee worse than I've ever had to before or since.

We pulled into a gas station and I ran into the restroom like a woman possessed. It was at the back of the convenience store and I ran through the store yelling "Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" 🤣 I've never peed so much in my life!

I hope you picked up some electrolytes. It sounds like you were extremely dehydrated. I hope the air quality has improved too.
