At light it was 9F with a feels like of-13F, 23 for a high. Feel so bad for Ginger 1 of my easter eggers, she is molting and lost a lot of feathers these last few days.

Thirty-minute downpour forces planes to divert, floods streets, caves in ceilings in Sydney​

It also caused delays to flights in and out of the airport.
Two Qantas flights about to land in Sydney were forced to divert to Canberra, with several other airlines also doing the same.
The rain only lasted about 30 minutes but managed to create quite a bit of damage in its wake.

I learned from different sources that if the temp drops below 35, they must be protected from the elements. So I covered everything except the door. I covered the part of the coop they sleep with thick plastic as well. As I'm typing this, I'm going to cover the door tomorrow.

Here it gets very cold, I use a Sweeter Heater and a Cozy Coop for my gang. They have the barn, but at -10c they start to be cold stressed.

I make sure they have warming stations to get to and warm up. And they use them. Optimal temp for poultry is 22C (72F), above that they start to get heat stressed below that cold is an issue.

Having said all this, I have found that they can handle the cold better than the heat.
