Here in Northen Indiana I have seen them twice in my life both times were very dramatic! We just don`t see them very often here. I think you are very lucky to see them often! IMHO one of natures wonders!

Yes they are very cool.

Sun dogs are also neat, the sun creates a prism which has 4 outer ‘dogs’ or prisms. Generally seen in extremely cold temps when the sun is full with no clouds.

Many neat things in the extreme cold during the day and night.
