A very fresh 33.3kph ENE'er was blowing across the lake when I was there earlier. All is calm and around 64F now at 8.16p.m.

I just love those cactus - have seen them up close and they are amazing! The desert is just beautiful, so different from here with lush huge trees and rolling pastures and fields - very green. But the desert is so extreme in each element, the plants, the terrain, the animal life. Just amazing!Wow, you're right, they are procyonids which includes raccoons, ringtails, cacomistles, coatis, kinkajous, olingos, and olinguitos. I had to look that up!
Some people say the seasons start at the top of the mountains and slowly make their way down, so while it's spring here it's fall in the mountains, then when it's winter in the mountains it'll be fall here. It's a crazy place to live. I will never look at the seasons the same way again!

Monday:51°F, feels like 50°F, dew point 23°F, humidity 33%, wind E @ 4mph, clear, cool. High today was 62°F, low was 37°F. Doesn't surprise me but it still gets me how South Texas goes from being summer to being winter in a matter of days and sometimes within hours.

It's the same way here when we go from winter to summer, just a matter of a few days to a few hours! We have had snow, thunderstorms with tornadoes and hail to a picture perfect 95° summer day all within the same week!Have experienced chinooks - it will be -20c in the morning and have a foot on snow on the ground. Winds start to roar down over the mountains and they generate friction which heats up the wind, and by noon it’s +20C and the snow pretty much melted.
Craziest weather ever!
Another miserable day, snowed all day, it’s more like January than November here.
Currently -5C (24F) and snowing; calling for lake effect snow squalls to set up tonight and by tomorrow could possibly have close to 18cm of snow on the ground (on top of what we already have).
Just so you don’t know I hate snow and cold. Detest it.
