What's the temperature where you are???

Ahh man, so close! Goats are so much fun. I raise dwarfs but have always wanted to try full sized breeds. I hope you talk your wife into it someday😁!!!

I would have raised goats a couple yrs ago, but not now. Once my horses are gone, no more larger animals for me.

It such a chore to get help with hay, etc. I’ll stick with the chooks until they have grown old and passed. By then I will truly be an old lady!

So talking about goats... I built a 20x10 shed (with a loft) at the opposite side of the property... with the intention of raising goats. It WAS fully insulated and double walled... (now rodent infested) with doors on the front. It has full electric (just like my coop) both have frost free spigots. Those are handy in the winter.

I'm ok with that... as long as we don't get any -50 wind chills. That's when I get worried.

I can only dream of frost free water posts. But my water table is way too high for those, they would never self drain properly and would freeze solid here. I envy friends who are not living in low lying areas that can use those. Such time savings!

Hmmmmm you must have a good breeze going there!

I’ll send over some of my cold and snow for you šŸ˜‰ wouldn’t it be nice if we could just set a temp for our climate!
30mph gusting mid 40s down at the harbour, so probably more on the hill. That's about the point I'd say it's actually "windy" and not just blowy or a bit of a breeze.

The humidity and rain makes it feel a lot colder too - both temps (actual / feels like) are meant to increase slightly overnight, when the wind will pick up to 40 gusting low 60s but it'll also stop raining and humidity % will drop down to the 80s.

Currently -8C (18F), snow on the way, just what I call nuisance snow, 2 to 4 cm (1 to 2ā€), which will cause traffic headaches. Looks like a short warm up coming tomorrow, along with more snow - ya no surprise there.
