I swear Im not posting the same pic each day. No sun all day. Currently 9.26p.m. 25.9kph SSE winds and 63F, feels like 55.4F.

32F, cloudy, sprinkling.

Funny story.

I went out a bit ago to bring mash out to the growout pens. We had an ice storm last night, but thought if I made it across the deck, I could get to the dirty snow and be okay. Wrong. I went down. I yelled for hubby. He came out in his PJs and tennis shoes. Down he went. I was cracking up laughing, and he was ticked off. There has to be a cartoon about this. The prince comes to save the princess and winds up in trouble themselves.
:gig

He got the salt/sand out and made a path to me, then we both could make it back to the house. I asked if he was hurt. He said just his pride.

That looks so pretty! She knows she's special lol

She’s been one of three chicks I first ever bought. She and her sisters will be 5 in April. They are pretty much the boss hens here, with Fluffy being the top hen.

Oh my goodness! Well I am happy you are both ok, ice is miserable crap.

Right now it's 80F which is very hot for this time of the year were I live and it will drop into the 20sF on Monday with "snow" at midnight. Crazy weather!

Hard on livestock with such big temp swings.

Boxing Day (26 December) also St Steven’s Day, the patron saint of horses. Wonder if there is a patron saint of chickens?

And the answer I have found is yes - St. Brigid, patron saint of hen keepers.

Today’s weather

Currently -10C (14F) and snowing, under a snowfall warning. Forecast high of -7C (19F). No more nice mild weather for at least the next few weeks from the looks of it. And snow almost every day….. hate winter.
