What's the temperature where you are???

I am so glad you were able to get some lovely rainfall. What I take for granted and (loath at times) is a rare gift for you.
Have you ever read the Ray Bradbury short story, "All Summer in a Day?" It's a lovely, poignant story. There's a poem in it:

I think the sun is a flower
That blooms for just one hour

It symbolizes the fleeting nature of the sun on the planet Venus which only appears for a brief moment once every seven years. It reflects the longing and beauty associated with the sun in a world of constant rain.

For me, it's the opposite: I long for the brief appearance of the rain in a world of constant sun. But I definitely relate to that poem.

My mom was a great admirer of Mr. Bradbury. He gave lectures all around Los Angeles and she never missed a single one. He would stay afterward to chat with people and she was always in that group. She often took me in tow although I was very young and hardly remember much about it except that he was a kind man with a friendly smile.

Currently +2C (35F) overcast and foggy. Very damp and chilly.

Tomorrow is forecast to be a high of 8C (46F) and mainly sunny - I had to look that word up on google as I wasn’t sure what ‘sunny’ was. But once I looked it up I remembered what ‘sunny’ was.

Might be feeling entirely too good to go to work tomorrow!

What a lovely memory.

I will make sure to check that link out tomorrow - as I enjoy my sun ♥️

It's 49° at 8:00 P.M. and still lightly raining! :celebrate It's 22° up in the mountains and still snowing a little up there.

Those cacti can handle snow? Amazing!

I have seen the desert in bloom - it’s amazing!

I love desert blooms! There's a golden poppy here that's very similar to the state flower of California. We'll get a bloom with big swaths of color but then it all goes brown and dies within a week. :sick

Saguaros handle snow well. They are pretty tough. They live twice as long as we do, and then some.

This saguaro was over 300 years old when it finally died in the 1990s. It was located in Saguaro National Park and measured over 40 feet tall with 52 arms. They called it "Old Granddaddy."

The saguaros will drink up all this rain. After a good rain their accordion bodies swell with water and they get all lumpy (I know the feeling)! 😄

I love cactus, so much so I have a cactus garden - yep we have a variety that grows here. It’s flowers are yellow and it also only lasts about a week - but pretty when it does.

Those are awesome pictures! I just love the cactus with snow on it but they're all so pretty!

47° and cloudy with 88% humidity (yay!) at 11:00 P.M. The rain finally stopped here but they're still having snow showers up in the mountains, they will on and off all night. Those lucky people are going to wake up to a beautiful snowscape.
