What's wrong with my chick?

Now the birdies can stay nice and warm!

I hope all your chicks make it this time: I know it's difficult starting out, but I'm glad that you were finally able to get a lamp. Make sure to let them sleep, but also handle them a bit so that they get used to you!

They're going to grow so out of that box real fast! (If they haven't already!!) It's amazing how quickly they go from being little fluff balls to large, fully feathered chickens

Hmm... is there any chance you have a bigger box? They look a little squished at the moment! It's good to let the little babies have space to stretch their legs: I keep mine nice and warm in a bathtub (thoroughly disinfected before and after chicks) with a heat lamp on one side and they have room to move if they find it too hot or too cold. It's probably just personal preference, but I would give them a little bit more room so that they don't get bored/angry/too cramped and start picking on each other. I made the mistake of keeping mine too close together for a bit and my chicks pecked the flesh at the top of a runt's beak until it bled. It's a heck of a lot nicer for them if they get to run around rather than being squished together

Any chance you could plop a thermometer down? If they're cold, the lamp might need to be lower. Just tryin' to keep those chickies happy
