What's wrong with their feathers?

Oh yeah, come on chickies! So this is day 20? How many did you put into lockdown? Yours go early then?

Oh gosh, how exciting! May I ask what temp you incubated at and the humidity you are using at lockdown?

I feel like a stalker , been over on the incubating page looking if this hatch is there

I get left and right mixed up all the time too! Drives the BF crazy.

We tried to follow the Weight Loss Method, and for the most part, did reach the goal of approximately 12-14% weight loss. I'll upload the rest of the weight charts tomorrow to the incubation thread below.

Average Ambient room temp days 1-10 = 66.1
Average Internal Egg temp days 1-10 = 97.0
Average Ambient Incubator temp days 1-10 = 99.0
Average Humidity Incubator days 1-10 = 33.8%

Average Ambient room temp days 11-18 = 66.7
Average Internal Egg temp days 11-18 = 97.7
Average Ambient Incubator temp days 11-18 = 99.2
Average Humidity Incubator days 11-18 = 44%

Average Ambient room temp days 19+ = 65.4
Average Internal Egg temp days 19+ = 97.7
Average Ambient Incubator temp days 19+ = 99.2
Average Humidity Incubator days 19+ = 71.5%

I want to open the plugs for an hour or two since we are at 80+% - yay or nay?

Here is the incubation thread (which I suck at updating) link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=293226

I was going to say yay, but I changed my mind and am saying nay. The reason is if the humidity drops too low too fast then the membrane will dry. Even a little bit can get the chick stuck.

If you opened it just a itty bitty bit you could probably get away with it, but I would still worry. Even with the plug in I have found that the fluctuations in humidity is a chick sticker. I seem to have the most problems when alot of chicks are pipping and zipping and then there is the chick that pips a little later. The humidity goes lower quickly and the lone chick sticks.

The strange-feather chick is still in early-pip mode. No progress.

8 other chicks have hatched. Most of the other eggs are in various stages of 'pip'.

I gotta find something to do other than sitting here hitting the refresh dohingey ; I think I'm getting a hatching addiction before I even try it . Guess I'll read my nightly verse and see if I can get some shuteye . Hope you have great news for everybody in the morning .

Ok so where is the dohingey? It sounds easier than what I do to get back to start! If you think you have an addiction Steve...you do! And good for you!
