What's wrong with their feathers?

Jean- I know for some traits in animals there are two different genes that can create the same trait. Even if the gene is silkie and not fray, if the gene is not the same as the silkie gene in silkies, might the result still be a hard feathered bird?

If there's a hole (and not just a pip) you may end up having to help baby out. If they make too big of a hole the inside will get too dry and they get stuck. Just something to keep in mind.

I had to help one of my chicks out during the January hatch, and it is doing just fine.

On another note: Kathy and I are working on getting me two silkies in a week or two - which I will breed with my rooster. Should be interesting to see how it turns out.

And very cute pictures of the chicks, Kathy!

Ok so where is the dohingey? It sounds easier than what I do to get back to start! If you think you have an addiction Steve...you do! And good for you!

LOL Its near the top of the screen , two little green arrows pointing up and down in a circular motion . I only recently figured out that clicking that brings the page up to date and new posts visable LOL .
