I'd have to see some side by side pics to even guess on sex since I'm not as familiar with Ams. I know we've got 2 black Am pullets around the same age that ones been red for weeks and just started laying this weekend, while the other is still super pale. In every other respect, they are mirror images though. Some of the other BBS Am chicks I know are roos, but they're a lot younger and I haven't spent nearly as much time looking them over. Side by side pics would help if you can get them.
Double rats! And No.... I think I will let them stay! Now I have to get a roo. They sure are a pretty bird and they have a really nice personality.
I can get side by sides but they do look alot alike other than the facial color. Usually I can tell by the feet but even those look alot the same. Phooey.
Oh Kathy, they are beautiful. I bet I do have two girls. The comb just isn't very large on the one I hoped was a roo. Red yes, large no.
So... when you have chicks or eggs I would like to buy some from you. Or Julie. I just need to find me a broody as I have tossed them all out of the nest boxes
And TY, those are some nice blacks. I was really impressed with the egg color from the one that's started laying. Can't wait to see how well the F2s eventually turn out.
Using broodies and small hatches, why not carry on with the 2 pullets to get your F1s started? Or if/when go with F1 roo to pair with the pullets.

Thank you Kathy. I still don't know if it was a coyote or a huge fox and I saw the dang thing. Can a coyote be a reddish color with a white tail? The DH and dad say yes if it is young but the face looked like a fox to me.
Guess I go to the predator section and post or google it.
