We have a total of 4 splash and 3 blue that have hatched. I am leaving everything else in since you just never know...but I am thinking this will be all from this hatch...which is good, I think! I have 12 ameraucans in the bator on day 7, candled today, and all but 1 is looking FABULOUS!! Excited beyond belief for this project and glad to get started!! Wondering if anyone who's hatched these guys out can help me figure out who's silkied?? Do I need to wait til feathers start developing more?? I took a look at the wing feathers, but they all seemed to look the same??
Also, I had one blue chick hatch out this afternoon with only one eye...I know that the gentic diversity in these birds is lacking a bit...but just wondered if anyone has had this happen???? Right now we put him/her in with everyone else....as long as they fair fine and seem to be growing, we'll keep him/her and add to our barnyard mix laying flock that we do not use for breeding. If it's a roo, we can always send him to freezer camp later down the road!! I know some don't agree...but I feel like we can find a use for almost any bird!!

I didn't get good pics today, but I'll try again tomorrow..they are so darn cute!!!!
