What's wrong with this picture???

I'm getting all excited about the event now. I was looking at all the Gettysburg pics and thinking that I haven't seen those guys in about a year. It's fun to get together and share a campfire with really nice (but stinky) southern gentlemen.

That's a pretty dress!

I dress up when I go to renaissance festivals.

People (around here) think I'm crazy for doing that. I always get nice compliments at the festivals so I must be doing something right!

Me too! I love to cook on campfire and sit by the fire and gaze in it. Sometimes guys will come over and sing a song or two.

Setting up tents is the hardest thing I watch guys put up wall tents. So is trying to dress myself without any assistance putting on a corset LOL.

Tell me about stinky gentlemen...those are hard cores and I am not one of those hard core reeenactors. We go farby if you know what I mean. We dont have too many hard cores in our group but neverthanless, its a family fun and they do include women in camps while hard cores dont. I remember the first time I went to an event that it shocked me that I could nto camp with our guys....the event manager prohits women in camp so we ladies had to go and camp at the civilian camp and our guys complain and grumbled about absence of women in camp....each day they would come to our camp and eat and march back to their camp, then again back to us for lunch and agin for supper and some of the guys would stay with thier wives...need a little comfort that men dont do LOL. Those who went back to the camp, the men are unmarried, divorced or need some space from their wives for the weekend.

Southernchick, next time you get a stinky guy in your camp, throw a bar of soap in his haversack!

Yeah, I'm outfit isn't 100% correct but it's ok because Fort Branch is can be a lil farby. You know people with propane heaters in their tents and such.

My DH belongs to the Stonewall Brigade too. They are HARD CORE! Absolutly for no reason should there EVER be a women in camp. NEVER!!! They're so funny.

They do it right though.

I think Southern28Chick should do another round of pictures for the sepia treatment, but this time the way women really looked then. Hardpressed, beaten down by hard farm labor, poor nutrition, and snaggle-toothed. And worst of all, in those days there were no apple martinis and brie en croute!
