I have to say my Cavalier king charles spaniel puppy has confirmed what I researched about the breed beforehand.

He is cute, loving, does not bark too much for a smallish dog, and is easily trainable. If you could feel his ears they are like silk!

When everyone was here Christmas day and we were opening presents he just plopped between people, put his head on the couch and just watched.

Even the two year old who is afraid of dogs loved him.

Apparently because they have such a loving disposition, they are often trained as therapy dogs. I am considering this for when he gets older.

OK down off my Cavalier soap box now.

Australian Cattle Dogs, better known as Heelers, are my favorite.

This is Bindi, my 11 month old ACD. She has been the most energetic, fun dog I've ever had and I've had a lot of dogs.

I have a beagle who is too smart for her own good. But Ive had 3 basset hounds in my lifetime and would snap up another quickly. Seems they are getting hard to find. I love their disposition, their smiles and of course....... the howl.

I've always wanted and Old English Sheepdog and an Irish Wolfhound. For now though- we have a Bernese Mountain Dog x Labrador Retriever. He's been my best friend for 10 years.

I think my love of big fluffy things is what led to my fascination with cochins too
