Well, if you're breeding I wouldn't think of it as a bad thing... you a need a roo.
Unless you've got hens that can fertilize themselves!

nice 3 hens and a roo ....yes they can have to much feathers on the shanks only if u care about sop but your chicks are wonderful looking and are perfect and not to excessive , some chicks hatch with white down some hatch yellow

If that is true then exhibitors would have to petition the standards board to change the standards. Part of the change would be a very detailed description of the fluff, how big, color, how tall etc. It may be easier to breed it out.

it is a fault in other breeds but i wonder what points get cut if u show a roo with fluff ? back is 12 points tail is 8 and it might be a combination of 2 .... so big question ,, is ait a back fault or tail fault ?

Will try and say this without making anyone angry. Walt, just explained this yesterday and said that the APA would not let the Marans club include acceptance of the Cottonball in the proposed standard, He is meeting with the balance of the standard committee at Shawnee and will ask about if the white wing and tail are a fault or DQ. The thing is they do not want any white fluff at all. Don
