We have a general population coop with a few partridge Plymouth rocks, some Easter eggers some silkies not much more than 12 birds but its just for mixed birds , the wheaten I have in a separate coop for them and I have a separate grow out coop for newcomers(from my closed flock ) , my set up is very small , at full capacity I could take 25 to 30 adult wheaten Marans , but more comfortable with half that and a couple roosters and the rest of the room for juveniles or chicks .i like having the other breeds and mixed up birds but they are more of my sisters birds and she is a silent partner with the wheaten and every once in a wile will chime in on byc
she takes care of the chicken stock stuff , we went to a few last year , was fun , a great way to re-home a few birds
. We all know theres no money in chickens ,,, its more like a fifty year old kid with a lemonade stand lol the sugar cost more lol but it is fun to play but I am taking serious the breeding of the wheaten and would like to have good stock some day but it will take me years and i already have 2 years under my belt
