She does Don. Her underfluff/undercoat is also darker underneath her wings, almost a gray color.
Would that be considered a fault?
Jeremy, these female with the light slate are what I breed when I am trying for a few males with the correct color, the males should have a light slate or gray under coat. Your female has a little too much of the wheaten bleeding into where it should be cream. Look at the first hen in Randys female pictures and see a really nice color female.
The Judge will certainly take into consideration the different shades of wheaten that will show up when judging. Some will like the lighter wheaten and some will like the darker wheaten. I found out many year ago to take more that one bird when showing so you will have a chance to have what is being looked for by the judge.
I would use your pullet as a breeder in a heartbeat. Don
