Wheaten and Blue wheaten Marans Discussion Thread

Blue x Blue will get you some splash. They will appear to be like White Wheatens as females, or Red Pyle like as males.

Illia, At a show I saw a Marans listed as White Red Marans. Is this the same as Red Pyle and do you think it was really a Splash Marans? Here is the pic.

Here is one that was labeled as a Splash Wheaten. I notice that he does have the wing triangle and the above bird doesn't...is that the difference?

Yes, the one below is a Splash Wheaten but I'm sorry to the owner, he is terribly colored! He should actually resemble the above one in color a little more, besides of course for the triangle.

Red Pyles require a colored triangle too though, as they are duckwing which in BBR (straight gold form) are practically identical to a normal Wheaten. The one above was probably meant to be a Splash Copper, but the color is pretty light.
