I bought my wheaten marans eggs from 4 different sources ... the best by far being from Buddy Henry at the Backwoods Poultry Farm. It is SO difficult to hatch eggs that are mailed, but I had 9 beautiful marans chicks hatch from a dozen + 2 extra that he sent me. They are gorgeous!
I also bought twice from a person on
ebay ... got 8 eggs ... 2 hatched .... the rest clear. The second time got 8 eggs and only one hatched ... the rest clear.
I now have eggs hatching today from another
ebay person .... 8 eggs, and 2 have hatched this morning and 2 are pipping! I'd say that's an excellent
ebay purchase ... it was for 6+ eggs. If I can get 4 chicks, I'll be EGG-CITED!!!!
As I said, my favorite person to deal with so far has been Buddy Henry of Backwoods Poultry Farm. Here is a link to his website, and hopefully it opens on the page with his wheatens. He has pics of 2 chicks which he explains which chick is the male, and which is the female. I never actually looked that close at my chicks to see what their feathers look like at that age.

Buddy's eggs are not inexpensive .... but well worth the money you spend ... and he is VERY responsive in his emails. I definitely would like to recommend him to anyone wanting wheaten marans.
