When a Hen thinks she s a rooster

Seems it’s a draw on sex of this Cochin I still feel it’s a hen. No crow or any behavior other then meeting this Roo to suggest she is a he.

Color and feathering says pullet to me. Until I hear it crow sure seems pullet to me. Have had roosters in the past and introductions were a bit hectic but settled down with hens accepting the Roo. This is the first time I have had a hen fight so viciously for so long....she bested him and he gives her all the room she wants.

Nice and peaceful this morning. Found out this rooster is not a BB Red.....he is a intermediate crele rooster.

I agree, plus if they were both boys, it seems like they would fight more. Very pretty flock, I am always kicking myself for not getting advntrouse and getting pretty breeds. I only got boring breeds for my flock, LOL RIR and stuff like that! :D

OP said the Cochin had that much color at 20 days.

Absolutely not a pullet. Not with color that early and not with wattles this large at only 12 weeks.

Both of these pullets are 1 day shy of 16 weeks in this video.

The only time a bantam Cochin pullet will have color like that would be when she is approaching POL.
