When can I start eating eggs laid by new chickens

My chickens finally started laying eggs for the first time, but I remember reading somewhere that the first few eggs aren't too good to eat or something like that. If that is true, then when can I start eating them?

"When can I start eating eggs laid by new chickens" As soon as you cook it!!! First eggs are perfectly safe to eat. They may be a little on the small side, but that's the only different. Enjoy!

why would you not be able to eat the first eggs?? I've never heard of that.

First eggs are usually small, and sometimes the shell is rather difficult to break open, but otherwise their some of the best eggs you can eat! Enjoy!!

I see no reason NOT to eat the first egg right away. I did and it was the best ever.
