When can I start eating eggs laid by new chickens

My chickens finally started laying eggs for the first time.... when can I start eating them?
You should wait until the pullet finishes laying the egg because those down feathers are hard to floss out of your teeth.

I've also heard that the first two are best not to be eaten by humans. I ate my girl's first egg and hey, nothing happened!:) If the egg appears to be misshapen, the shell deformed or the insides off normal, than I'd say wait for the next one. But you can feed them to the chickens or dogs!

I got my first eggs about four weeks ago. As only one chicken had started laying at the time, I had to wait four days (until I had four eggs) so that hubby and I could have 2 each fried on toast together! They were amazing. I was stunned at how different the colour was (the brightest yellow I have ever seen) and how well the whites stayed together, instead of spreading out in the pan. They were also extremely delicious! This morning, I watched as my BO laid her egg, then whipped it out from under her and cooked it straight away for my breakfast. Enjoy each and every one of them.

I'm no expert, but I have been reading that refrigeration is not necessary for fresh backyard eggs. You should be good to go. I am still waiting for my first... Should come any day now!!!

Are you gonna wait for a few more to arrive or eat that first one right away? I can't decide but I'm leaning towards a special first egg over really easy as soon as I find one. Saving them up for a batch of scrambled would probably be nicer for the rest of the household!
