When can I take the chicks out of the incubator?

It's hopped out of the cup and it's just lying in the incubator
The yolk sac broke.
*Get a string and tie it off close to the body, like a umbilical cord on a human baby.
Spray it with any disinfectant that you have. Vetrimycn, Alcohol or even peroxide if that's all you have.

Unfortunately she passed away last night. She was just too weak.
But I did get 6 beautiful chicks out of my hatch of 10 eggs. So it's not all bad news. I've never lost a chick before so it was upsetting.

Were you able to tie off the yolk sack before it died? After it breaks it's mostly a last ditch effort but needs done right away.
The more that you incubate the more death you have to deal with.
Congrats on your little hatched chicks though! :love

Unfortunately no. She seemed to be bleeding quite alot when I took her out first. She was very weak and couldn't really walk.
I know I have been lucky so far. 3 successful hatches. I only do it once a year for children in school but it is easily my favourite activity.
