When do Buff Orpingtons start laying?

Thank y
My girls started laying mid-afternoon, later and later everyday, then started laying in the early morning, getting later . I think they lay something like every 28 hours, so it's always changing. It'll change as the light does in winter also.
thank you!

I have 4 ladies and they are laying at different times. Only 1 is laying. She seems kind of going off on her own and not as playful as the others. Should this be a problem? I think they are from different breeders.

She is starting to walk tender after she lays is this also a problem.

Got our first 3 eggs this morning! Our Buffs are all 23 weeks and some have matured faster then others. We still have a couple that have small pink combs and waddles. Slow starters.

I have 8 BO pullets with one Roo in their own coop and run. They are almost 21 weeks. The roo seems to be mature cause he is doing his thang. He is so big and pretty. He even grew much faster and bigger than the bbq specials(75) that I raised and put in the freezer and canned . I'm just waiting for the pullets to start laying. I have also wandered if the presence of a roo speeds up the maturity of the pullets. We haven't had much rain this fall. Lots of sunshine. I think the areas that gets lots of cloudy rainy days causes the pullets to take longer to reach POL. I have also noticed that coops that are under trees also take longer.
In addition to the BO, I also have 8 EE hens that have been laying for 2 years with one roo and 5 new chicks this fall. Have 8 RIR that are also close to 21 weeks with two roos. Have 8 FBCM with 3 roos that are 17wks old. And 36 quail. They all keep me very busy and each breed has their own coop and run.

I like that you gave each breed their own coop and run!!! I was considering separating my show birds-polish and silkies-from my Orpingtons.

Our two BO's just started laying. They are 23 weeks, and we are getting one egg each day between the two of them. They alternate: one hen lays one day, and the other lays the next day. We are in the SF Bay Area, and we are getting spring-like weather in January. This may make a difference, although BO's are good winter layers too.

I have 5 BO's. Two started laying at 28 weeks, and that was mid November (no extra lighting either), the other three followed within the next two weeks. It did seem like it took forever to happen, but when it finally did they started right off laying perfect eggs. A little small in the beginning but have gotten bigger over time. Nice hard shells and they lay regularly. I am so glad that I chose BO's, first time chicken owner and they have just been great! These are the first two eggs I got, the bigger brown one is store bought for comparison.

some of the girls )
