When do roos start crowing?

I had 1 that started trying to crow at about 5 weeks. Ive seen some raised in a barnyard with a older rooster preasent. these was nearly 6 months old and wasnt crowing yet.

Any tips on how to keep roosters from getting mean? What do you do if they do jump at you? My first roos started that at about 4 mos, I traded 1 and kept one. I don't want to be afraid of them, but they are intimidating!!!

When do the pointy saddle feathers show? or are they there in the first lot of feathers they grow

Mine started to crow at 5.5 weeks is that normal.
