When does a rooster start to crow?

Crowing varies. They can start as early as 3-4 weeks, 3-4 months, & 5-6 months of age. Some may not start crowing until a year, or two of age.

Watching an almost feathered cockerel attempt to crow is hilarious.

Mine started at 6 or 7 months old to crow right after I introduced another male to the flock he wanted to let everyone know he was in charge

I remember when he started. Brand new to chickens. He was the most inquisitive so I just wondered about him and figured I'd have a slightly longer wait to see. Sitting on the couch and heard him go, wondering just wtf the squeaking was. Hes a good rooster though. Will be 8 in April

I have a roo that doesn’t crow yet either, he’s probably about 4 months. And come to find out one that I thought was a she is a he and he doesn’t crow yet either. The first pic is the roo that is mounting his favorite hen 10+ times a day and the second on is speezo which I thought was a she

sounds like a hybrid of a chicken and a squeaky toy. my dogs would love it! (the roo might not appreciate that tho…)

My bar rock batch last year had two of these.

Sounds similar to a cat getting tail stepped on. It was hilarious!!!
