When it comes to dressing yourself ~ what are your quirks?

I live in V neck T shirts or loose cotton shirts, and cotton knit pants or capris. For town, jeans or capri jeans and the same. Have a few tent type dresses (T shirt knit or denim) for really comfy-needed days. Used to have to wear blazer, "dress" (poly) slacks and a tank for work; gave them all away when I retired. Don't go to funerals, ever. Usually wear mocassins (Minnetonka) or sandals to town, those $6 dollar store plastic clogs in the yard, and never wear shoes in the house. Own a pair of those athletic shoes but don't put them on unless it's below freezing out. Occ. wear knee high leather boots in cold weather as well.

For winter, used to love V neck sweatshirts but they really don't exist any more, can't even buy the fabric, so I wear polarfleece instead. Used to make all my dress/work clothes til fabric became basically unavailable.

Oh, no makeup, unless I put a little foundation on if really splotchy. Did wear just a little makeup when I worked, a little foundation over my red nose mostly, and a little eyebrow pencil.

For me it's

YES TO:

Jeans
T-Shirts
Hoodies
Camo Hunting Gear
Flip-Flops
Baseball Caps
Hair Ties on HOT days
Hunting Boots
Cowboy Boots
Tennis Shoes
Scrubs (for work)

ABSOLUTLY NOT:

Dresses of ANY KIND (If I ever get married it's gonna be in camo huntin pants in a tree stand
wink.png
)
Make-Up- Hate it, never wear it, don't own it
Turtlenecks
Dickies
Dress Shoes (ESPECIALLY High-Heels)
Jewlery (Also a note- I don't want a diamond. If someone proposes to me, I want him to take me outside and say, "Honey, will you marry me? Here's a new Honda Rincon, or a new John Deere tractor... something practical!)

I'm nothin' but a simple Iowa country girl, and that's all there is to it!

At home -usually outside: home sewn work pants, men's shirts with sleeves cut off, rubber waders, bright bandana

Not at home:jeans, dress sacks, peasant skirts, sweaters. I love to wear anything soft-and pink, yellow or red. I always have at least one really sharp black pants suit to be worn with white accessories; two inch heels. I'd wear taller ones but my ankles and knees say, "No."

I think I might be the only guy so far but my brothers and I were talking about this today when we were at the goodwill.

For me I cant stand

sweats
courderoy
those swishy pants
leather clothing
city people clothes if you know what I mean, the ones with lame designs

Most of my clothes are cheap or old. It is mostly jeans, t-shirts, a couple long sleeve shirts, some shorts (just now starting to go with the plaid thing).

I cannot stand shoes. I got a pair of shoes to run in a couple years back, wore them for the race and havent worn them since. I have a pair of dress shoes though. As far as other footwear I have a pair of packer boots, pair of cowboy boots, pair of muck boots, snow boots, and 2 pairs of flip flop things.

I love going to thrift stores for t-shirts. I get them for $1 and they are broke in most of the time. I got tons of cool ones like a cow tipping team one, baker college, and many many others. Some of them I take the sleeves off because its comfortable that way.

Also since shaving my head ages ago I cant stand hats of any type.

On most days you'll find me out in shorts, cut off shirt, and boots.

My husband:

No to:

Turtlenecks
Sweaters
T-shirt with no pocket
Sleeveless shirts
Sweatshirts/sweatpants
Anything with a hood
Sandals
Dress shorts *only wears a cut off pair of camo around the house*
Suites/dress clothes of any kind *unless funeral or wedding*
No swishy pants either

Yes to:

Blue jeans
T-shirts with pocket
Cap on the head *always*
Hunting boots year around
Bedroom shoes *not the slipper kind*
Pajama bottoms with a t-shirt *will not wear a matching top*

Hey Flying.. et al

Not the only guy anymore,
lol.png

FYI- Most city people don't wear city people clothes. (Seattle is very casual) And we love Goodwill, Value Village, and St Vincent's. You're lucky if you are finding T shirts for about $1. Here they are $3-8 even in thrift stores.

I only wear clothes at work: slacks, shirt, tie, shoes etc. The rest of the time I'm in my "uniform" (neighbors name-not mine) It consists of shorts & tanktop (Read boxers & cut up T shirt) Never Ever Ever any kind of shoes. Haven't worn boots since 1979.

Imp- I'm wearing one of my cut up T shirts now It says "Big Pig Palace" I wouldn't wear it for years cause I stupidly thought it refered to a place of ill repute.

I was clued in when I was stopped in the grocery store and asked if I was a racing fan.

Guy here too.

I guess I'm like Flying, I like going to thrift stores and finding clothes that are already comfortable, new clothes are never fun to wear.

Wear:
t-shirts - usually the ones companies send you to buy their junk, tiedyes, some 70's & 80's band t-shirts.
Western design plaid shirts- only long sleeved, and sleeves are always rolled up or I cut them off.
jeans - mine are all faded, holes, tears, but comfortable.
shorts - I don't usually wear shorts, but if I do there just cutoffs.
footware- my 'barn boots' which are cowboy boots, I have a pair of sandals but they're not the greatest, and I have a pair of moccasin boots that I wear around the house, other than that I do barefoot.
socks- the only thing I get creative with, sometimes I mix and match, yellows, greens, whatever.
No hats, but might try what a bandana looks like one day.

So thats what I usually wear, or atleast what I want to wear, I have some dress clothes that I'm forced to wear for church and stuff, feels so awkward though. I have a pair of tennis shoes for 'town shoes' but they've had holes for a couple years now and don't fit very well, but no one has noticed.

I will never wear:
courdery, denim shirts, sweat pants, turtle neck, (or v-neck for that matter, not sure where i'd find one of those though), um.. gonna have to go with Flying's description.. 'city clothes'. Lol.

I also love shirts from companies, they're kinda cool. I have been trying to find some western shirts for ages now at the thrift stores, the ones with pearl snaps just so I can cut off the sleeves but never get there in time.

What I mean by city clothes are the ones with crazy designs and a lame looking guitar or skulls or something like that on them, stuff you only see skaters, emos, and city people wearing, lol. Plus the general non-country style.

Oh quick funny story. I wear my chore boots everywhere. Last summer we were at Walmart buying barn paint and I was in a cutoff plaid shirt, cutoff wranglers, and my knee high muckboots. All of a sudden I heard the 'Ksh click' of a camera and turned around to see 2 girls (in their late teens/early 20's) taking pics of me with their cell phones and cameras. When I turned around 1 took off and I said 'hi' to the other. She smiled and asked if she could have her picture taken with me, she had never seen anyone dress like that before. I gave her my autograph and everything, it was great. Now I am waiting to get one of those redneck forward things in the email with my picture in it, LOL.

Ha! thats hilarious. My brother had that happen to him once, he has a habit of wearing a texas ranger hat (something like that) outside, some people were taking pictures of him without his knowledge.

I knew what you meant by city clothes. I'm sure they look good on some people, but they sure aren't me.
I found a couple western shirts at Jc Penny's once. All the pearl snaps were too fancy looking or purple, but every once in a while they have some decent ones. I hang them out on the line a couple days, and after a couple washes they're pretty comfortable.

Okay here goes....

Almost any given day...

Tee-shirt or t-tank
Levi shorts ( from March to Oct.)
Gurkee sandels ( look like Jesus shoes, made from rope) or K-Swiss tennies, or Teva flops

Shades ( have 28 pairs)

Own 3 pair Gurkees, 4 pairs flops , 2 pair K-swiss , 1 pair moccisan knee highs, 1 pair of poop kickers

Never as long as I am breathing will I wear....

Any thing with flowers on it
No funky girlie designs
No poly
No wool
No dresses
No skirts
No coolocks

I was born and raised a Tom-Boy and will forever be one. I am an outdoors fanatic and I love to work with my hands, doing whatever suits my fancy at the time. I also love to do the bargain shopping at all the local thrift stores and yard sales !
