When it comes to dressing yourself ~ what are your quirks?

Ok, so one more guy with his two cents.
Most of my clothes come from Goodwill, thrift stores, or the L.L.Bean employee store, because I'm tight with a buck. DSO likes that. Except for underdrawers and footwear. Blues, greens, browns grays, black. No red, no yellow, no camo, blaze orange only when hunting, which is required in Maine during deer season.
The most expensive clothes I have are all my Harley tee shirts and riding leathers.
When I put my socks on, the stitching on the toes must be exactly across the toes. If the sock gets turned or wrinkled, I don't care where I am, I have to take off my shoe and fix it. Need real comfortable shoes, better if they don't have to be tied. I usually wear muck boots or moccasin type slippers when home.
nuff said...........

I just wear old rags from thrift stores, yard sales etc. I do have to have my pliers on my belt and my jack knife in my pocket or i'm not a happy camper. Hate shoes too.

I'm quirky, At home, pj's or coverups when I leave the house, my son actually said to me one day why can't you just dress casual :)
Because of the business I am in, my clothes are professional. I actually dress more casual than most in my office,..more secretarial than daily powersuits. I suppose the trouble began when I decided one day to pair down my closet, it took me a few weeks to realize I only had professional clothes or totally bumming around at home clothes left in there and I frankly haven't had the time to address it. So for me, totally bumming around at home, or completely professional.

I like loose fitting clothing. I prefer tank tops and flip flops. I only wear dresses if I have to for places Like Church. I own mostly flat shoes because I can barely stay grounded as it is. I do however own a few nice boots with a heal on them for going out. But I have to hold on tight to my husband to walk.
I dont like turtle necks , bother me big time.
I am simple.

i cant put my socks on before my pants

if my socks have a seam at the toe it must be a well hidden seam and i better not be able to feel it or off comes the socks, and never never can I have toe fluffys (aka. toe jam) and no holes on my socks.

tags of shirts or underwear, i must not feel them cause that will send me around the bend, thank goodness fruit of the loom and old navy have gone to the tagless styles

no turtle necks (although i was in love with them in the 80's when I was in highschool

shirts must not come to close to my throat most T"T shirts are ok.. (my BYC hoodie i can only wear for short periods of time because it is to tight around the neck)

All wetlands camo. People have come to the door before and I have been in my camo bibs and a long sleeve camo shirt lol

ETA: I feed my animals in my church cloths every Sunday. The dogs know not to jump on me. I'm out in my jean skirt and nice shirt and muck boots lol. I get funny looks from the neighbours.

Hate: Turtlenecks, cashmere, wool, silk (pain to wash/dry clean), open toed shoes, cowboy boots (pinch my toes), anything really short or really tight, crocs, flipflops

Love: CLOTHES!!! LOL

I love dresses and dressing up AND I love jeans and getting dirty.
I have enough dresses, to wear a different one everyday for at least 2 months! A lot of them are vintage dresses from the 40's and 50's.
And I loooooove heels. My favorite shoes are a pair of Roxie's - they look like keds with a 2 inch wedge heel. It's easier for me to walk in heels.

I like the cotton t-shirts from Target. Love Goodwill!

I always find neat stuff there.

ETA: I love hoodies with a kangaroo pocket! This is my indoor winter uniform: 1 short sleeve t-shirt, 1 long sleeve t-shirt, 1 hoodie, jeans, thick socks.

At home:
Men's sleep pants, old shirts, Men's shorts (cotton), jogging pants, hoodies, sweat shirts, thermo shirts, boxers, flip flops, rubber boots.
Hair is usually in a pony tail. I wear two pieces of jewelry a plain silver band and a pair of diamond ear rings that haven't been taking out in a couple of years.
Yes I am the mom that will walk to the bus stop in my pjs.
The few times when I leave my house:
Jeans, t shirt, tennis shoes, flip flops.

I love garage sales, thrift stores, goodwill, and outlets.

My kids are all different in their personal style.
DD 1 clothes must match, hair must be done, nails done, and jewelry on.
DD 2 prefers boys shorts, shirts that have quirky sayings, hair in a pony, no jewelry.
DD 3 does not care. The more it doesn't match the better.
DS 1 shorts, white muscle shirt, cap, and rubber boots.
DS 2 just went back to leaving w/ his mom and now he is into "gothic" stuff.

Oh forgot hubby:
Swim trunks and nomex
