I’m not sure where everyone gets their information. Northern fowl mites turn a grayish color after awhile. They are clear, red when full of blood then turn gray.

Might want to reread that article. “Dark red to black”. Most northern fowl mites you’ll see when a bird has them is a dark grayish color.
I’m aware they can be red. They do not stay red.

I read it, and I also have experience with them unfortunately and only the eggs and nits were grey. Maybe they vary from location?

That could be I’m not sure. I have had them too unfortunately. Little birds bring them. That’s why I use frontline. It works. Unlike playing around with permethrin and ivermectin.

I think they're northern fowl mites. They're a gray brown color. They are definitely not red, off the bird anyways. Plus they are out during the day which I read is a northern fowl mite thing. I will say the dilution you recommended is already showing positive results in the coop.

That was a good read. Thanks. I will try that for sure in the girls dust bath. Is there any special brand or anything you use?
