when postal workers can't read.....

I tend to agree with you Buster.

I received a box of eggs last year marked Fragile/hatching eggs. They showed up with egg yolk dripping out of the bottom! The box had been crushed.

A short while ago I got eggs that were not marked at all. They arrived in perfect shape!

I've seen USPS workers throw any and all boxes a distance of over 10 feet while they were loading carts to go in their mail trucks with no regard as to whether they were marked fragile or not (many were clearly marked). I've seen UPS workers treat packages similarly. The worst was when I witnessed Fed-Ex employees drop a box marked "fragile" and then kick it around on the floor while joking about how it was probably someone's priceless family heirloom.

I was under the impression you can't insure hatching eggs? Also, remember, the USPS contracts with UPS, so it's not JUST the postal workers that handle your packages.

Once everything is packed in the belly of the airplane, it certainly can get mishandled by shifts in the flight as well.

That's horrible!!!

When I was doing Ebay alot the post office guy told me to never write fragile or glass or anything else on the box because someone would throw it or stomp on it. He said to pack it like a truck would be running over it.

well if they are doing it on purpose i would be surprise.mine last week came so bad it was wraped in a bag with yoks dripping out of the box.

maybe we shoudl write some kind of heart breakign story on it.

like these eggs are for a little girl with cancer to hatch out so please dont break her heart and break this box.

just an idea nothing ealse seams to be working anymore.

I agree with Buster. I only put fragile on the boxes now. Hatching eggs seem to make it a challenge for some postal workers to see how much damage they can do.

I was told to actually write eggs and fragile on them. Mine normally make it fine and I don't think it's special b/c of working there.

That box looks like it got caught in a machine, to be honest. Not everything is hand done. There are a lot of machines in the process of getting to and from their location.
