They probably won't eat and drink much the first 24 hours or so..that's what the yolk is for.
I wouldn't even bother with the sugar water unless one seems especially weak.
I use nutri drench for that so I can't really advise on the sugar water.
I don't worry much till the next morning and then I'll dip the end of their bill in the water and show them food by tapping my finger back and forth from the food to water.. and offer the crumbles stuck to my finger to them. Normally they will peck at it and get the idea.
I decided to give the white duckling some sugar water because it was quite weak. It kinda helped but it still just kinda hangs out and doesn't stand up strait

Thank you so much, but a lot of it was due to the help you guys gave me, and I appreciate it so much! I will get some pictures very soon also and send it here! Its just they still need a bit of time to dry off and it isnt that interesting right now, I will take a few pictures now though! I really could not have been this successful without everyone who helped!:yesss:
 
I've got a breach duckling. I helped one last spring that's where I'm getting new eggs this spring. Any suggestions? Other problem> PGE turned off electicity & I've lost 3 babies so far. Not real happy or able to do anything about that!!!!!

What do you have in the bottom of your brooder.
Sometimes it takes a day for their feet to kind of uncurl and for them to get up on them.
I usually don't put any shavings in my brood or the first day or two. Just a puppy pad or an old towel.
It helps them get up on their feet if they have a flat surface to walk on that's not slippery.
