When should I put a safety hole in a call duck egg?

Pics
Beautiful babies ❤️
The wee one will hopefully be ok. Is it eating and drinking now?
Do you have nutri drench?
I don't have nutri drench, its doing a lot better though right now, I could get some nutri drench but it would a bit difficult rn because of a few reasons, but if its something I should get I can get it, although the white duckling is doing a lot better and is a LOT more active, it was resting a lot but now its really active and strong, I think it was just still really tired from the hatching because now it is quite active and climbs into my hand too, but I will be keeping an eye on white specifically and I will update you guys, but it was really active last time I checked on it and the last few times too

I'd say it's fine then.

@Overo Mare @shawluvsbirds Been a while and ive been REALLY REALLY busy, but unfortunately the nutmeg duckling passed away, I should have come to this thread but it happened kind of quickly, just since the hatch it was kinda downhill, and then like a few hours later after I kinda noticed nutmeg didn't seem to be doing too well, we lost him/her, But, the other egg I had in lockdown that was a few days late hatched without needing any assisting which suprised me, and is super healthy. I have 3 snowy call duck eggs going into lockdown today, but only 1 I saw moving for absolute sure, one is the one with the EXTREME saddle to the point I think it has no chance, or a very small chance but I will try my best, other 2 look alright except one I didnt see moving at the time. Other than that though, everything has gone really smoothly, although im sad I lost the nutmeg.

So, ive got a question, what color does everyone think the other duckling that didnt need any assisting is? It was from a different seller, that group had REALLY bad shipping and this was the only egg to develop, the eggs weren't listed for what color they were

The picture of the single duckling is the duckling that didnt need help hatching, I just showed another picture of its feet, to show the color of its feet
Another thing, is that the pastel one has been spinning, it doesn't seem to effect her in any way as far as ive seen, like its not stopping her from doing anything else, like she walks fine and does everything fine. But sometimes she just spins, quite a bit actually. I guess it could be that she just likes going in circles, but she does it a lot. I think I will give her vitamins, should I give the rest of them vitamins too?

Sorry that I havent been saying much but ive been REALLY busy lately and its been very difficult to find the time to specifically go to this website, though I really enjoy talking to you guys about ducks!

Also I should add, and I dont really want to edit the previous post but its really large lol, the spinning duckling is the pastel one, and she doesnt do it all the time, and it could be her just liking going in circles, but idk, she does it a little bit more than id expect, I am unsure if its a thing she developed or if its a new thing

It isnt a super common occurrence, so im trying to get a video, but she doesn't do it often enough where I can just sit there for like 5 minutes then start recording, its not an uncommon thing for her, it definetely happens, just not all the time. and she doesnt just completely spin, she spins sometimes, but she runs in circles a lot more.

he/she really just does it a little bit more than I would just say, oh thats just her running around in a circle just because she feels like doing that, but perhaps she just enjoys it, but it seems a little odd and I wanted to ask.

Sorry about your little nutmeg. 😭
That stinks.
I'm not sure about the spinning. Try and pay attention to if there is any specific trigger when it does it like...did it just take a drink...did you just flip a light on or off etc..

@Overo Mare @shawluvsbirds this is one of the eggs that just went into lockdown today, this is my last batch, 3 eggs total, other 2 look fine, no internal pips yet, you cant see the whole air sac in this picture, yes, your looking at the air sac, and I believe this egg has internally pipped. Any chance it will make it? I amagine its tiny because it had no room to grow. and I dont know, what do you guys think I should do? I am kinda sad because I feel like it wont make it even if it makes it out of the egg because I amagine it can't be very big if it developed properly, which is another worry of mine if it developed properly

Besides the egg, another thing about what color that duckling might be, some of the sellers ducks were silver, and another color they had was snowy, they had other colors too like buff and pastel

I can't see the air cell at all in that pic. Have you tried moving your light around to see if there's any angle that shows it better?

Betting that baby is Silver, then!
