When the men put their foot down...

I second that!!

I third that!

Three years ago I would had fourthed that but now we live in FL and we have lizards every where! Which means they get into the house. For some reason they don't bother me outside but when they are inside I scream just like a girl. lol

So kitty cat is coming home to me!

The breaking point here is what our property can sustain. We don't have a farm, so I have to be reasonable about the number of animals we can have just due to the size of our backyard. The most we have had at one time (and they didn't all stay long-term), was two dogs, five goats (three were babies), and 23 chickens. Right now we just have two dogs and 10 chickens.

Several years ago I got 3 Nigi's. A year later said I missed having baby goats and wanted more. DH said, "get some". So I got 2 more. Jerk. I didnt need more goats, what an enabler. He does say I have too many chickens, but only because we don;'t have the room for them anymore.

It doesn't matter what the breaking point is because the animals just appear anyway. It is partially his fault. I once went to buy 2 chickens. We brought 4 home because he kinda liked 2 others. Here is the trick. Let him go with you to pick out the chickens, or let him look through the catalog. Then say, "Which ones do you like Dear?" Then you can buy those "for him" and get an equal number that you like.

I'm not married, never have been, but if I was.........I would hope we could make decisions as a couple (wishful thinking?). If he had a really good reason that was practical (too expensive, too labor intensive, etc) I would probably respect his opinion. If my husband just flat out told me NO, just because, well, I don't deal well with being *TOLD* what to do in my personal life. Not sure I'd be able to stay marrried to someone like that.
My dad is and was always a very agreeable person, and didn't object as long as my requests were reasonable; dogs, cats, rabbits, frogs, hampsters, gerbils, birds, etc. Now, a pony in the backyard (in the city), he said no.

i hate it when grown ups try to bully other grown ups , and have no patience for rude people.
