When To Switch ?

My Rirs Are 15 Weeks Old. When Should I Switch Them To Lay Pellets? They Are On Starter Grower Now Since Day 3. I Have Read Many Conflicting Stories Even On The Food Bags.

I switched mine to layer pellets when I got the first egg.

usually you switch at about 20 weeks, or as soon as you get your first egg.

I was going to run out of starter about 2 weeks before i thought i should be seeing eggs. So i bought layer feed and for a couple weeks mixed starter and layer together to get them use to the layer pellets. I like the pellets better. They don't seem to waste as much.

I am interested in the same question. My flock just turned 16 weeks and i bought layer feed from Southern States and on the directions it says 16 weeks . I still have some starter/grower left .This seems to be confusing to me also. I don't know what i should be doing.

Shouldn't they have layer crumbles or pellets before they start laying?
