Yes!

She has been so noisy lately, and she has a two finger spacing between her pelvic bones.. she caused a chain reaction because two others are squatting now!! NO egg song yet.

For what it is worth, my girls Barr's squak before they lay eggs. My girls started laying 5 months and 3 days in age. I bought them as day old chicks. My Barr's lay speckled brown eggs. They start out as Pee Wee size and after a month or so they get to the medium - large size. All of thisbis by weight. Good Luck!

She started squatting 6 days ago!! The nesting box was all messed up .. so maybe she was investigating??
Should begin laying soon! Hens often start investigating nest boxes a little while before they begin laying. Or course, this isn't set in stone--it could be months before she lays, for all we know (but lets hope not!).

She sang the egg song 4 times today and made a nest... No eggs.. Tomorrow she will be squatting for 8 days tomorrow...:/ Hopefully she will lay tomorrow?

Sorry for the old thread revival!
Should be laying soon! The squatting, reddening of the comb/wattles, and growth of the comb are generally signs that egg production is near. Of course, all chickens are different--some lay before their faces/combs are red, and other take ages to start laying even with gigantic combs and wattles.

is this true? Here's my pullet. She's 16 weeks shy by a day or two. She squatted for me and anyone who walked close to her!
I also heard a sound I've never heard before, perhaps that's the egg squawk! She was also spending time in the dog crate I used as her brooder.

Her pelvic bones, I can almost fit two fingers between them.

Dont get restless, give her time and keep eye on her, accommodate her with suitable place for her laying, she will lay soon, follow these behaviour, squatting, frequent mating, readness of comb, over diet, and restlessness(she will move here and there with making sound).
