Where can I find Silkied varieties of rare, or uncommon breeds.

I have been told that there was someone in New Zealand planning to create from they're Orpington-mixes. The silkie gene appartently popped up from their mixed side.

I have no idea. I'm sure you could use the search feature and found out the OP hasn't been active in years.

I do not. I see Silkied Ameraucana mentioned on here occasionally. I believe they have a lot of health and fertility issues if I remember correctly.

Disgusting. lol There is no set pattern or color. I have a friend with some and every time he sends me a picture I just scream. None of the birds look like the one next to them. *gags*

Probably not. They need very special care because they don't have any protection from the heat, cold, sun or rain and snow

Sources have been given for the cochins. You'll just have to look around for the other two. Naked necks seem to still have silkie feathering in a fair number of back yard flocks I've seen

Really? Are they mixbreeds? If they are would it be possible to breed them back to Naked necks? When did Naked necks gain the silkie feathering?

By keeping silkiexnaked neck crosses and breeding them. They're just naked necks with silkie feathering. Really nit that hard to do in a mixed flock in a few genrrations
