Well that's a relief! I don't want to break her heart after breaking her egg...no

The "dome thing" is a watterer, it likely will NOT work for feed. The "Flying Saucer Thing" attaches to a "dome thing" instead of the red that is attached to it in the picture and is meant for feed. You should be able to get one of the "flying saucer things" at the feed store pretty cheap since it's chick season.Hiya kids! I've got some questions.
Well...after some contemplation with my lack of suitable brooding space. I have come up with maybe a fix of sorts. I was thinking of making a removable barrier wall with chicken wire attached to a wooden frame and placing it on a biatny from the center nest box where Miss Mocha is sitting to the front of the coop. Should I make this wall just tall enough to keep the chicks in...or make it tall enough to keep the others out? Does Miss Mocha need to leave this temporary brooding area?
In the pic below (from internet)...I have the long red rectangular feeder thing and two of the little dome things. The red thing is too long for the broody area I have planned to use so I'm wondering if I could put feed in one of the dome things and water in the other? **Side thought** I'm going to be changing my watering system to a 5 gal bucket with horizontal nipples in the future...should I maybe use a hamster waterer in the broody area instead so the chicks learn to peck for water??? Will Miss Mocha know how to use it? Or...even better idea maybe...make my own waterer using a horizontal nipple in a water bottle?
(Disregard the flying saucer thing in the pic...don't have one of those.)

I thought the flying saucer thing went under the dome thing...but it didn't look like it had a hole on the top for the feed to fall into...??? If Mocha hasn't ever seen a nipple watterer, likely she will NOT know how to use one yet, I would lean towards giving her one of the "dome thing" waterers and then once the others are drinking from the nipples, she (and the chicks) will likely figure it out by seeing them drink from them (of course you need to monitor this to be sure she knows and is drinking)
This whole chicken keeping thing is one surprise after another...what's one more! lolyou can easy to candle but if you do not want to leave them alone let her do her thing more surprise later
That particular one doesn't look like it has a hole in top, but all of the ones I have seen in person screw onto a jar, either the plastic "dome thing" or a mason jar.I thought the flying saucer thing went under the dome thing...but it didn't look like it had a hole on the top for the feed to fall into...???
