Uggghhh....:he And I read that entire article too... Too much reading and not enough comprehension. I can't believe I missed that...dang it.

Here's a rather off the wall sort of question... When I go sit with them at lunchtime...and I share my lunch. Should I offer morsels to Miss Mocha while she is on the nest? I feel bad that she's missing out on broccoli bites, tuna subs and cheeseburgers. Will she eat from my hand or will she be upset that I'm invading her broody turf?

You could try it. If she screams and growls at you and doesn't eat any of it, you'll know lol.

Omgosh...I don't want a growling chicken! I just feel bad that she's missing out. I tell the others to save her some, but I don't think they are abiding by my wishes...
LOL I am sure they would say they would.... and then gobble it down

Some people don't let the broody eat while on the nest... but have the food just out of reach so she has to get off to eat.. the thought being that she may not be able to hold it and poop on the eggs... I had one broody poop on the back eggs and it was a mess and they didn't hatch. and she had to get off to eat.

Ewwwww....ick! Yeah...poopy eggies are not on my "Want List"! If she wants treats, she'll have to come down and fetch them.

I put bread meal worms just in reach Silky are great broody
I have no clue of Miss Mocha's breed... I decided to make a new breed name for my feathered friends called "Pretty Chickens". :) I'm sort of excited to see what the babies will look like. Mr. King is so handsome with his colors and markings. :love
