@KettermanHillCoop my apologies for the hijack, but i do have a question. Did you put a poop board under the chicken's roost? I was behind reading when that discussion went on. If you add a poop board and use sand or pdz, it's much easier to clean. Just a suggestion if i missed it earlier.


@AllenK@new2this we did dig a hole, and put the boat down in it :D

(2) I know nothing about chickens. :)

I just spent the weekend building a coop. My opinion thus far is that chicken wire is the most evil material in the world to work with. My arms are shredded and I have frayed little holes in my pants. As of this writing, my friends are milling about outside while I sit inside wondering how I'm going to catch them after work... I'm sure the security video of that fiasco will end up on Youtube somewhere...

Absolutely new! / Didn't catch them yet...stay tuned!

Hope to have 5!

Chickens. Pretty ones? lol My Google research has me guessing Rhode Island Reds and Cinnamon Queens?

Googling for guidance!

Gardening, billiards and reading

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Currently my family thinks I've lost my mind. My Scottish Terrier is a cat trapped inside a dog's body. My 180lb Chocolate Lab thinks he's a lap dog. I'm a bookkeeper with zero knowledge/experience with chickens...but I do love eggs! :)

Haha! Totally cannot unsee this nor would I want to. You get top marks from me! You earned your redneck stripes for sure, only I wouldn't have dug the hole(yes I understand physic's and water pressure kinda demand it) I would tried to put it up on cinder blocks. But pragmatism suggest burying it might be the only reason it is still watertight since nobody will shoot at it your way. Reminds me now I did see a boat for free on craigslist.......

No poop board but I built all the innards to be removable for easy cleaning....rails and perches lift out...

I just love that boat idea!!!
