Where did they come from???

Pics
I tossed it back out into the "designated poop" area in hopes that they see it and say, "Oh...Mommy wants us to poo here." :) The bright side...they know the egg boxes exist... I've read that you can put a fake egg in the cubbies...is there a special fake egg or just a plastic toy thing? How about an egg from fridge?

Do you need to separate the chickens from the turkeys? Or do they co-mingle?
My Tom Turkey has expired 2 roosters.. He weighs over 45# and does his job protecting his lady friends well. He pays no attention to Chicken Pullets, but out powers and removes Roos from the equation..swiftly with no contest.

A couple of golf balls will work fine, no real eggs.

They make ceramic eggs, but as rjohns39 stated, golf balls worked. I used a plastic easter egg w/ a rock in it for weight & glued shut.. they kicked it out of the nest. I ended up using a couple of their real eggs for a week (marked so I didn't pick them) and they got the idea, but then they decided those eggs were old and gross and kicked them out of the nests too. After that I stopped using them b/c they pretty much figured it out. Even with something in there you may find their first eggs in strange places. I had a couple lay their first eggs in the run or on the floor.

Woohoo! The girls left me a surprise in the egg boxes! Not what I was hoping for though... :( Why are they pooping in the egg box? How do I convince them to put eggs there, not poop? Are they mad at me?

You should block off the nesting area until they start laying eggs to prevent pooping/scratching/sleeping there. Once you find your first eggs, you can open the nesting area up for use. If you put golf balls/fake eggs in there, the girls should quickly get the idea that is where eggs go. You will still get some eggs layed in the wrong place at first as they learn "that feeling" means an egg is coming.

I am pretty new at this but we bought grown hens and I believe the stress from being relocated and not to mention it was a few days after hurricane Irma passed over us here in FL but it took several weeks before we got an egg. It might be a while before you get breakfast.
