In our state, if you are a truly horrid employee, your reference will answer with "Who!?" They will not even acknowledge your employment. However, if you gave an honest attempt, then they do acknowledge your employment. Here, we also have a 3-month trial for employees. You can leave a job, or be fired from it, for no other reason than the fit was not right, within your fist 90 days.I don't know about your state but in Ohio, it is illegal to tell any future jobs about anything other than your start date, your end date(if you have one) and if you actually worked there. So, a phone call would go something like this:
New job(nj): Hello. This is nj, I'm calling about a job reference for Dawg
Current job(cj): Yes. How can I help?
NJ: When did Dawg start and when was her last day?
CJ: She started here on June 20 and is still here. Has never been late and is a hard worker
So, a current job reference cannot tell a new job about any discipline issues or not to hire you. Illegal
Oh wow I wonder what the rules are hereIn our state, if you are a truly horrid employee, your reference will answer with "Who!?" They will not even acknowledge your employment. Why not a full time job?I really want to try being a dog daycare associate or a kennel attendant or similar but all those are full time. I did find a part time associate at ALDIs, Cumberland Farms (local gas station/convenience store), and a couple other places. And overnight stocker at Walmart and Amazon warehouse worker. But I donāt think I would like those two. Maybe a nursery but I donāt think ours are hiring.
I go to a program thing during the week plus itāll be my first job so I wanna start slow. Plus I have a few other reasonsWhy not a full time job?
Makes sense!I go to a program thing during the week plus itāll be my first job so I wanna start slow. Plus I have a few other reasons
