Where Is The Best Place To Live In The USA?

Come to the Puget Sound Area!!! Woodinville is kind of expensive but if you go east a bit towards Duval, Carnation, or Concerete, you got cheap land out there.

Well I'd welcome you to Michigan. We have 4 seasons alot of snow in winter, but beautiful summers. I live 30 minutes from lake Mi. which has a beautiful coastline. When you look out it feels like an ocean -minus the saltwater.

Homes here are CHEAP right now and everyone is trying to sell their homes. My mom is a relator and can't beleive how bad foreclosures are. For $400,000 you could get a very NICE house on alot of acres here. Michigan was known for the auto industry and that was shot to H*LL by people buying foreign autos. Our livelyhood is gone. Our economy is really bad right now, BUT if you are a smart person and aren't lookin for factory work we have jobs. They are just in other fields. I will look up the link to her realty board and send it to you.

Sorry to the people of NC because I feel alot of your "traffic" is people from MI.

Personally I love the south and the people there ( my best friend has lived in KY his whole life) but I would never move there because like Trisha and the others pointed out.......crazy heat, crazy wild animals and it seems they don't need anymore "visitors"

Well after living all over the US all my life, and having seen friends relocate from the UK, I can offer one bit of advice:

There is no such thing as the National Health in the US. For health insurance, you are on your own. You either need to work for a company that provides health insurance (and you will pay on average 20 to 30% of the premium), you must be wealthy enough to pay for it 100% yourself, or you must be within a pretty narrow income range where the State and Federal government will pay for it (not easy to qualify.)

My UK friends who relocated really struggle with that.

I love Middle Tn. Originally from Pa, I moved south 18 years ago. First to Savannah , Ga. Then to Fl.,5 miles from the beach, but so many regulations it drove me crazy. Decided 2 years ago on Middle TN. Land is cheap, taxes ridiculously low and no ad valorem tax on cars. We bought a farmhouse, haybarn, greenhouse, tractor barn, 24 x 30 metal insulated garage and chicken coop and 2 sheds on 4 acres for 125,000. We then bought an additional 30 acres down to the river, for 3,300/acre. We love the peace and quiet and serenity. I wouldn't live anywhere else. By the way, the house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is about 2000 sq.ft.

Okay since we're all sharing pics of our beautiful states...here's mine.

Hope they work, some are from my Shutterfly account, and I don't have them saved on my PC anymore.

If you come down south do not wear a red coat!

You'll find health care quite a bit different here, as was pointed out in an earlier post. That would be a huge concern.

As far as the best place to live:
I'm a little bias, I love the Southeastern region.

Some folks talk about inbreeding in this area like it really happens, but they've been watching too many reruns of the dukes of hazzard.

But we still love you mbducks!
